GUIDED MOUNTAIN WALKS AND HOLIDAYS
Sgurr Guibhsgain & Loch Shiel, Ardgour, May 2009The West Highlands contain some of the most famous and spectacular mountains in the Scottish Highlands. Apart from BEN NEVIS there are many, many mountain areas within a short distance of Fort William - The Outdoor Capital of the UK. Areas and mountain ranges such as GLENCOE, The Mamores and Grey Corries are quite well known, especially for those climbing or 'bagging' their Munro's. There are so many other beautiful, yet lesser known mountain areas, especially out to the West coast. The Ardgour peninsula is just a very short ferry ride away which whisks you to another world. Lonely glens and pathless, quiet hills await those with a sense of adventure. Though only rising to around 800m these peaks are nonetheless has beautiful and spectacular has bigger peaks nearby. If you want to explore these and other quieter areas we have many favourite locations we'd love to show you.
Favourite areas outwith of Fort William we regulary guide is Torridon, SKYE, Assynt, Coigach, Knoydart and THE CAIRNGORMS. For details of these or any specific areas/Munro's you'd like to explore please contact us. We can even put together a walking
holiday package for several days walking if you prefer.
Streap, Sept 2009Streap, just under 'Munro' status at 900m, a beautiful ridge walk with plenty of craggy ups and downs culminating in a beautiful final ridge. Overlooking the Glenfinnan Viaduct, famous for the Harry Potter movie.
Sgreameach, Glencoe, July 2007The spectacular and famous peaks of Glencoe, just 20 mins from Fort William. Soaring, steep ridges and narrow glens make this a special place. The ridge walking here is superb and with good approach paths making these mountains accessiable. Numerous routes to choose from and some easy scrambling for a bit more excitement, if you wish.
Beinn na Lap. Aug 2009Beinn na Lap on the edge of Rannoch Moor one of the easiest 'Munros' yet has a wonderful 'wild and remote' feel to it. Views over to Glencoe and Ben Alder range. There is no road access to the hill so we use the very scenic West Highland Railway line from Fot William to Corrour train station, one of the remotest train stations in Britain. Nothing but a cafe at the platform so a nice way to end the day waiting for the train back. Corrour is at an altitude of over 300m so a good high start point.
Garbh Bheinn. May 07Garbh Bheinn is one of the most beautiful mountains on the Ardgour peninsula. Just a very short ferry ride across Loch Linnhe from Corran, 9 miles outside Fort William. Lots of different routes up this craggy mountain with superb views across the loch. Never seen anyone else while walking on this hill.
On the summit of Bla Bheinn, Skye. June 2009The iIsle of Skye is a wonderful place for walking and scrambling. Not all the mountains need scrambling experience. Bla Bheinn is one of those and with probably one of the best views of the main Cuillin ridge. Days like this one are quite regular, especially in May and June.
