Ptarmigan in Spring plumage, March 2008 Heath Spotted Orchid, Loch Tay July 2006
The Scottish Highlands have some of the most spectacular and rare flora and fauna in Britain. The Ben Lawers range of mountains is world renowned for the rare plants & flowers on its slopes and right up to the summit areas. There are beautiful orchids too on lower levels around Loch Tay.

Red Squirral, Killin Nov 2007
On the hills and at lower levels you can see red deer, red squirrels and mountain hares. Some rare birds too. Ptarmigan only live above 600m on the mountains of Scotland and we have snow bunting as well, two arctic birds. If you are lucky we may even spot a golden eagle.

Snow Bunting, Ben Nevis April 2008 Dwarf Cornel, Aonach Eagach June 2008
