Tarmachan Mountaineering is a professional mountain skills and guided walking company based in The Cairngorm National Park, Highlands of Scotland. Run by Gary Hodgson and based in Aviemore I offer guided days out in the mountains to suit your aspirations and available time. Tarmachan Mountaineering's speciality is individual, small group tuition and guiding giving you the optimum time in the hills.

Surrounded by some of the most beautiful and challenging mountains in the UK with vast tracts of high mountains, beautiful ancient Caledonian Pine Forests and unique wildlife there is a wealth of fine mountain  areas to suit all abilities. 

I operate all year round providing summer mountain guiding, winter skills courses and navigation courses. As well as the local Cairngorm Mountains I can provide guiding all over The Scottish Highlands from The NW Highlands to Ben Nevis and The Hebrides.
