Tarmachan Mountaineering is a professional mountain skills and guided mountain walking company based in Fort William in The Highlands of Scotland. Run by Gary Hodgson I offer guided days out in the mountains to suit your aspirations and available time. Tarmachan Mountaineering's speciality is individual, small group tuition and guiding giving you the optimum time in the hills.

Surrounded by some of the most spectacular, beautiful and challenging mountains in the UK it makes the perfect base for a mountain walking holiday. Fort William in the West Highlands is dominated by Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK. There is a wealth of other fine mountain ranges too including Glencoe, The Mamores, Grey Corries and the Ardgour peninsula are all close by.

I operate all year round providing summer mountain guiding, winter skills courses and navigation courses. As well as the local mountains I can provide guiding all over The Highlands from The Hebrides to The Cairngorms.
